Visāka
May 11th, 2025
Today is the full moon of Visāka, the sixth lunar month. And according to Samutthaan Winnicchai’s six season causative factors model, this signals some significant changes.
The first season, Kimhanta, has ended. The second season, Wasanta, now begins. It is still the hot part of the year.*
Bpitta has been present as a causative factor for ~120 days and has been the dominant factor for ~60 days. Now it manifests at the peak of its influence, the strongest it will be all year.
Semha has been present as a causative factor for ~240 days. With the peak of bpitta's influence, semha now dissipates completely and ceases to be a seasonal causative factor for the next two seasons.
With the disappearance of semha, waata now returns as a seasonal causative factor. It's influence is very weak, but it must be taken into account.
For the next ~20 days, until the sixth day of the waxing moon of Jettha, bpitta is the dominant causative factor and pattha bpitta is the Jao Reaun. Waata is secondary, and apattha bpitta is tertiary.
*Remember that dividing the year into three major sections (hot, cold, and windy) is specific to the climate of Thailand.
